Are you looking to establish a strong reading culture within your school? Cheshire Education Library Service can provide the resources you need to enrich learning and promote reading for pleasure.
We are currently offering schools in Cheshire East and Cheshire West the chance to try out our service with a special half-year subscription. Running from February to August, this subscription is a fantastic way to experience the benefits of our service.
As part of our half-year offer, your school can borrow up to 900 curriculum resources for the rest of the academic year. With a typical project box of 15-20 books worth in excess of £150, this can save your school thousands of pounds.
In addition to our extensive range of high-quality non-fiction books, we also provide:
- Fiction (including picture books, board books, KS2 picture books, graphic novels, dyslexia-friendly fiction and historical fiction)
- Guided reading sets
- Objects/artefacts
- Story sacks
- Multimedia (DVDs, CDs, and audio books)
- Big books
- Dual language books
- Braille
- Sensory bags
Our online request system is simple to use, and with our friendly drivers able to make deliveries and collections on a fortnightly basis, our service is efficient and reliable. Our responsive customer service makes us a popular choice for subscribing schools, the quick turnaround enabling teachers to plan ahead and transition between topics with ease.
As well as curriculum resources, your school can also borrow one book per pupil on long-term loan. These books are usually fiction – including brand new titles, popular series, dyslexia-friendly fiction and graphic novels carefully chosen to help get children and young people hooked on books – and can be kept in your school library, classroom reading corners or sent home with students.
Our knowledgeable librarians are always on hand to help. We can visit your school to offer practical advice on all aspects of library provision, including ways to maximise the potential of your classroom reading corners.
