The School Library Association has announced the shortlist for the eighth annual SLA Information Book Award. The SLA Information Book Award is an annual event celebrating information books, and is designed to support school libraries and to reinforce the importance of non-fiction whilst highlighting the high standard of resources available.
As well as a winner being carefully selected by a panel of judges there will also be a Children's Choice Award. Between Wednesday 4th July and Saturday 27th October, schools can cast their vote for their favourite information book from the shortlisted books. The age categories include 7 and under, 7 - 12 and 12 - 16 so there should be something for everyone. The 2018 winner will be announced at a special ceremony on 7 November 2018. There are various activities available on the SLA website to help you encourage your pupils explore the Information Book Award shortlist.
