The shortlist for the Cheshire Schools' Book Award 2023 was announced at Winsford Academy on Wednesday 2nd November. Cynthia Murphy, author of the Point Horror-inspired novels, Last One to Die and Win Lose Kill Die, thrilled the audience of students, teachers and librarians, while local teacher turned surprise nominee Kate S. Martin was delighted to take to the stage.
The Cheshire Schools' Book Award is entirely student-led, with students nominating and voting for their favourite books. All secondary schools who subscribe to ELS are welcome to join in. Participation is free, fun, and it can help promote reading for pleasure within your school, encouraging lively and positive dialogue amongst students and staff.
